Just outside our front window, there’s a rally to support former Prime Minister Fico against prosecution for corruption. Slovak social services should be first for Slovaks not for Ukrainians.
Unrest in Europe is growing. It’s easy to fuel a conflict, but difficult to extinguish.

I did not like this view from our office window. Fico is not prosecuted for corruption, but for abuse of power – pulling strings to find some dirt on (now former) president Kiska.
I can’t stand Fico’s populism/opportunism. 1/3 of Slovaks prefer the Russian side of the war on Ukraine (really just soviet era nostalgia of old people and then the far right), so he’s just doing what we can to gain power and get elected again by telling these people what they want to hear. While at the same time his political party Smer made the biggest army purchase in Slovak history – purchase of 14 F-16 jet figters, before that Black Hawk helicopters. Long before that Fico visited White house and accepted 8 prisoners from Guantanamo.
Ukrainians get the help they deserve. Do not worry, when Slovakia is the new war zone we will get free public transport in Czechia too.
