Hi there
I saw that i’m not the only one dreaming off the feature ?
Do you think you will someday release an offline feature that allow users to see vidéos offline ?
Or can we pay for this custom développement ?Thanks :)

Hello Cirdec,
thank you for the question!
We do not actively plan on working on this feature.
There are many security concerns disrupting possible implementation of this feature. Moreover, it would be quite a demanding project.
I will ask our development team to see if anything changed, and if this could possibly be arranged as a custom development.
Thanks,
Maria
Hello Cirdec,
FV Player Pro has a feature to let your users download the videos (certain types – MP4 and Vimeo): https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/video-downloading-with-simple-history
However if you would like to also prevent the video piracy it would be a whole another issue – we would have to integrate with DRM provider like EzDRM or BuyDRM – they do offer offline DRM protection as well.
If you are building a mobile app, then that would have to be taken into consideration as well.
Thanks,
Martin
Hello Martin,
your answer is 9 months old, so I dare to ask again:
It seems I have to implement the possibility for our customers to download the videos, use them offline, and still the videos should be copy protected.
Am I right that you still have no plans to implement DRM?
Thanks for your time
Michael
Hello Michael,
we still do not have plans to add this.
The integration of EzDRM or BuyDRM might be possible to do with FV Player Coconut, but it’s a fair amount of work and even that doesn’t give you a working protection against screen capturing.
With downloads the protection must be even weaker. It seems these services would have to be used for each video download and then it might only play in their proprietary application or using their SDK.
Thanks,
Martin
