Ok, This is the second time I’ve tried to update to the latest version of FV Player and Pro. The last time I had to back off to the previous working version (for me), and right now I’m running the software off my beta site because I can’t trust this thing to update properly and to run ‘out of the box’.
That said….
What’s happening is I’m getting “ADMIN: VIDEO ISSUES” and when I hover over the text, it says that the note is only visible to logged in admin users. Ummmm. I AM THE EFFING ADMIN and I AM EFFING LOGGED IN!!!! Jesus.
That’s issue number 1.
Issue #2 is that when I click the play button, I get 4 boxes that look like it’s search for the video to play and nothing ever happens. It’s like the spinning circle waiting icon.
Barring that I just updated to WP 5.0.1 on the beta site, this same thing was happening BEFORE I updated to WP 5.0.1…so it’s not the latest wordpress update.
How do I resolve this issue ?

For the second issue please send over a link to your website where we can see the issue. Alternatively you can open your browser console (here’s how: https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors#Step_3:_Diagnosis), then click the video and see what error message appears.

Issue #1 resolved. And not because you told me to click. I was clicking it before it wasn’t showing me anything. Now I’m seeing the error message.
“Access to video forbidden” – a 403 message.
which would create the second issue.
Unfortunately, I can’t grant you access to this server. It’s behind multiple firewalls and not meant to connect to the rest of the world.
That said, I think if I can figure out the forbidden issue, that all might be well. The link that you sent regarding CDNs does not cover security issues.
This is a beta site, which means it’s a test bed for the actual live site, everything is duplicated, so the access, as long as the keys are identical should be fine. However that’s not happening.
What am I missing ?

Hello Miles,
you can user that video checker dialog to send us a report of the video which can’t be loaded. You didn’t say where the video is hosted. Perhaps it’s checking the referrer and it’s only allowing your live website – if you say the video plays on that one.
