8 years ago in reply to: Youtube video embed not working on mobile
Hi Mateus,
I see and I’m not sure, what is causing the issue. It looks like YouTube wasn’t fully integrated. Could you please paste here the shortcode you are using?
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Add Youbube subtitle to FV embed videoHi Devin,
Sorry for the late response, I had to check some points with the programming department. As for your questions:
1 & 4) The player checks the size of the video on the website and uses that, while mobile always gets the mobile quality by default. If the user switches to HD, he will get HD for all the other Vimeo videos in the future. iPad/iPhone are always playing the HLS stream, so the quality switching there is automated.
2, 3 & 5) We are working on integrating the MPEG-DASH streaming protocol, which will allow automatic quality switching on desktop and also lets you integrate the 4k videos properly. It currently has a problem with mobile devices which we need to resolve, but it shouldn’t take too long.
Thanks,
EduardHi Devin,
Actually yes, the HD is the default quality for desktop browsing. You can allow the quality switching for Vimeo videos in Settings -> FV Player -> Hosting tab -> Enable quality switching (beta). That might solve the issue with slower connections, but will add four more buttons to the interface. Let us know if this helped.
Thanks,
EduardHi Devin,
Thanks for the links. I’ve tried all the videos on both pages, while logged in (and also logged out) and there were no issues with the playback. Maybe the problem is just in the slower internet connections of the users.
It may also have something to do with their geographical location, although that’s not very likely. Users in Asia used to have some problems, but Vimeo had fixed it, so I don’t think that this is the source of the problem.
Thanks,

We’re glad to hear that everything works. Are you still going to move to AWS?
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHi Wolfgang,
That’s ok. Looks like it doesn’t have anything to do with plugins.
And what about the PHP?Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not found8 years ago in reply to: Video Stucking after jumping forwardHello Anar,
Could you create a test page with the CDN videos and also the RTMP stream and post it here, so I could take a look at them?
As for the devices, if you want to avoid encoding videos manually and then uploading them all, you could use a hosting service such as Vimeo Pro. There you just upload one video file and the encoding to various qualities is done automatically.
Thanks,
EduardHi Mateus,
You can create a temporary admin profile for Foliovision and I could take a look while logged in. You can share the login with https://revealit.me/.
Thank you,
EduardHi Mateus,
I tested the videos from your link on Win 10 and got the above mentioned results. I’m apologize, the YouTube hosted videos can’t be checked by Video Checker.
I’m not sure how this is possible. Could you please try these two things?
1) Try to watch the first video in this demo and open it in fullscreen. Does it work properly?
2) Use the Check template button in the settings of FV Player. What results did you get?
Thank you,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: FV Player VAST settings tab MISSINGHi Lance,
Thank you for the feedback! I’ve made some edits in the ‘How to Use VAST/VPAID‘ guide, it should be better now.
Thanks,
EduardHi Mateus,
I’ve tested both videos on the site on Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Microsoft Edge and had no problem with the fullscreen mode. Are you still encountering the issue? If so, could you please use the Video Checker and provide a screenshot of the results? (you can use Snaggy for sharing screenshots).
Thanks,

Sorry, I might have not expressed myself clearly. Do you see any issues in these demos?

If the videos that Martin posted worked for you, then what’s the problem? You can’t see the live stream in the link you have posted?

Eduard8 years ago in reply to: verify if FV player is installed properlyHello Maciej,
When I try to open the vtt file, I get to a error404 site. You could check once more if the file is present in your library and also check the format. Our guide should help – How to Create Subtitles
In the meanwhile, could you try it again with this shortcode?
[fvplayer src="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7oXw2ecOrE" controlbar="yes" subtitles_pl="http://lucia.domainearl.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/test-subtitles.vtt" splash="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/L7oXw2ecOrE/hqdefault.jpg" caption="Massif des Ecrins. La grande ruine."]

Eduard8 years ago in reply to: ads on embed playerHello Anar,
If you have activated the Iframe Embedding function, then there should be no problem with embedding both custom video ads and VAST ads with the original videos.
Try out these two embed codes – <iframe src=”https://foliovision.com/player/demos/roll-custom-video/fvp” allowfullscreen style=”width:640px;height:362px;border:none;max-width:100%”></iframe>
<iframe src=”https://foliovision.com/player/demos/vast-ads/fvp2″ allowfullscreen style=”width:480px;height:272px;border:none;max-width:100%”></iframe>
The first one should contain a custom video ad, second one a skippable VAST ad, both in pre-roll.
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Pre-roll VAST/VPAID ads with HLSHello Mr. Bhanja,
I’m happy to hear that! Well, we don’t have any coupons, but you will have huge discount, if you renew the licences before they expire.
If you will have any questions, feel free to ask here on the forums.
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Pre-roll VAST/VPAID ads with HLSHello Mr. Bhanja,
True, HLS is mostly for Apple devices, but it’s supported on Android since version Honeycomb (3.0). As I said, there also shouldn’t be much problems on PCs, since the Flash fallback.
If you however don’t want to use HLS, then you can easily serve videos from Amazon S3 and set the quality switching manually in FV Player settings. Take a look on the example video in this guide – Setting Up Video Quality Switching.
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Pre-roll VAST/VPAID ads with HLSHello Mr. Bhanja,
It’s because of the nature of the HLS technology. It has been developed by Apple to work primarily on their devices, such as iPhones, iPads and Macs. To watch it in browsers like Firefox, you need to have Flash installed.
Most modern browsers have it pre-installed, so it shouldn’t be a problem with your audience. FV Player also allows you to add an mp4 file, if you want to be absolutely sure. HLS always switches quality automatically. The various resolutions can be set in AWS, when preparing the stream and are included in the m3u8 afterwards.
Here is a test site with only the free FV Player version. If you have Flash installed, the HLS should work fine, but it’s without the encryption, so the video could be downloaded.
As for the question about VAST: yes, you will be able to serve it on all devices, but at this moment, FV Player VAST plugin only supports pre-roll and mid-roll with customizable start time.
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Pre-roll VAST/VPAID ads with HLSHello Mr. Bhanja,
If you want to serve VAST/VPAID videos with HLS stream, you will need to use both FV Player Pro and FV Player VAST.
FV Player Pro will easily handle HLS with Amazon CloudFront distribution, you can also set up encryption for advanced download protection of your videos. FV Player VAST is our plugin for serving VAST/VPAID ads – it’s simple to use and works perfectly with our Pro player.
If you decide for our FV Player Pro, I can also offer you an additional service of setting up the CloudFront distribution with HLS on your website for a small fee, since I know from experience that it’s a difficult process.
Let me know if you have any other questions, I’ll be happy to answer.
Thank you,

Eduard8 years ago in reply to: License for Multi TLDHello Igor,
You will have to buy multiple licences for each of your domains. We offer a 5 licences pack, that is actually cheaper than buying three licences separately. However, you will need use this modified crossdomain licence to help you run the FV Player on a WPML site- fv-flowplayer-crossdomain-license.php.
If you face any difficulties with implementing the crossdomain licence, you can buy for our extra support service Making FV Player work with your theme and we’ll set it up for you.

Eduard8 years ago in reply to: VAST Ad not workingHi Paco,
We have checked the version you have downloaded and it’s truly the right one, but it seems that you are using Cloudflare CDN and it looks like an incorrect version is cached there. Could you please try to clear the cache there and afterwards also in your browser? Let me know if it helped.
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: VAST Ad not workingHi Paco,
Could you please try to manually reinstall the plugin? Make sure you download the one specific for the wrestlingrumors.net domain from the licences section in your profile, since any other won’t work.
Thanks,
EduardHello William,
I’ve passed this question to our design department and they will reply to you shortly with some tips on how to customize the border around the video in CSS.
Thanks,
EduardHello Nathan,
Looks like using
is a workable solution at this point – here are the details https://www.ampproject.org/docs/guides/iframes According to their guide: “Iframes are especially useful in AMP to display content not supported in the main page context, such as content requiring user-authored JavaScript.”
We are going to keep looking into this.

Eduard8 years ago in reply to: AB Looping AdjustmentHello John,
Thanks for the suggestions! I forwarded your request to rest of our team and we will take a look at it. The solution on TrueFire.com is not bad, but has a few flaws. We already have some ideas, so we’ll let you know when we make progress.
Thanks,
EduardHello Thomas,
I’m not sure what issue you would like to solve. You want to play several videos simultaneously and mute some of them? Or have the option to start a video muted in the shortcode editor and not only as a global setting?
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Quality switch to non-existing fileHello Alessandro,
I’ve created this demo for you. The second video is missing the Mobile quality file. If you switch to Mobile, nothing really happens, the playback continues in one of the available qualities. However, keep in mind that this wont work if you are missing the file that is actually in the shortcode (in fvplayer src=”).
Thank you,

8 years ago in reply to: Customizations not savingHello Luria,
I’ve tested the Skin settings on various websites both in Chrome and Firefox and everything seemed fine. Have you tried different browsers?
You could also try to update the FV Player plugin. If you are using FV Player Pro and don’t see an update available, then you can login at https://foliovision.com/my-licenses and then download a ZIP file with your plugin there. Before you upload it to your site via wp-admin -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload make sure you remove the FV Player Pro plugin which is currently there. No worries, no settings or video will be lost.
Thank you,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: html5: Video file not foundHi daniel,
The video on your site should be fixed by now.
The video itself was working but for some reason there was a problem with ‘%26’ symbol in the link on your site. I’ve tested it with it on other sites and it worked fine. When I changed ‘%26’ to ‘&’, it started to work on your site as well.
Thanks,

8 years ago in reply to: A bit of feedback for the FV teamHi Nathan,
Wow, thank you very much, we all are happy to hear that! This is definitely the best post on the forums today. Feedback like this is what is pushing us every day to make our plugin even better. That and coffee, of course.
Thanks,
EduardHello Joel,
It should be possible to share an existing video and embed it. Take a look on this blog post, that explains this technology a bit – Improved Iframe Embedding. If the page where the video is posted uses the Speed Buttons, then the function should be active in the embeded video as well.

Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Encrypted HLS setup issuesHello rasta,
We had a problem on our side – the previous version of FV Player Pro was missing the “Amazon AWS Decoder (Pro)” box which should be visible in the beta mode in Settings > FV Player Pro > Hosting.
If you follow our guide How to setup an HLS stream with Amazon Elastic Transcoder from step 12, you should be able to fill in the Access Key ID and then use the Encryption Key from Outputs > Output Key in AWS and Decrypt it in the shortcode editor.
Thanks,
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: html5: Video file not foundHi daniel,
Thanks for the login and password, but I forgot to ask for the link to the video. Sorry for that. Could you send it as well?
Thanks,
EduardHello Janneke,
I’m not sure what could be the issue here, but try to install the Pro plugin manually following this guide. I’ve experienced a similar message when deactivating the Pro plugin and reentering the licence key. After activating the Pro plugin again, the message disappeared, so I think that installing it manually should do the trick. We’ll have to take a closer look on this.
Let me know if the manual installation helped.
Thank you,

8 years ago in reply to: Press 'f' for Full Screen?Hello Janneke,
I’m glad that I could help. Also, welcome aboard the Pro ship! :-)
Have a nice day!
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: Press 'f' for Full Screen?Hello Janneke,
We’re very glad that you are interested in buying the Pro licence to our FV Player – you can do so here.
I’m not sure what might be causing your problem with the “f” shortcut. Maybe you’ve moved cursor out of the video box – the “f” shortcut works only when you hover your mouse over the video.
The lightbox problem that you’ve described might be caused by the dimension settings. When the lightbox is turned on in the shortcode editor, the dimensions you enter to the lightbox field will define the size of the video in the text layout, therefore it’s limited by the settings of your theme. The dimensions of the video itself will define the size of the lightbox after clicking on it. More info can be found in this guide.
I hope these answers were helpful.
Have a nice day!
Eduard8 years ago in reply to: fv flowplayer chrome not showing controlsHello catalin,
I’m sorry, but I was unable to play the video in any of the browsers you’ve mentioned, because it seems to be missing. Could you please double-check if you are able to play it?

Eduard8 years ago in reply to: increase video borderHello Kevin,
You are right, the border colour can be set in FV Player settings -> Skin. The border size can be customized through CSS with this rule:
.flowplayer {
border-width: 5px !important;
}Notice the ‘important’ attribute – this is necessary because the player itself uses a set of ‘important’ attributes to keep the theme from affecting it. Therefore this rule needs to override other rules as well.
Thank you,
