Also please consider adding schema using JSON+LD markup style instead of HTML markup currently being used and also perhaps providing an apply_filter so that output can be manipulated.

Video play, pause, end, seconds watched, etc. are not tracked on Google analytics if video is played on AMP.

Brightcove seems to support VAST ads on AMP – https://solutions.brightcove.com/bclifford/demo/player/amp.html
While I do not have examples of a CMS or plugin which works with AMP+VAST, this advertising company – https://vi.ai – uses VAST ads within their own videos embedded on AMP pages.

As for the type of advertising Google will let through, I’m sure they will allow their own video ads to run on AMP, through the AdX platform. We’ll be running Google’s AdX VAST ads.

FV Player already uses the
<amp-video>
tag for the AMP integration, seems to be it would be relatively simple to just replace it with
<amp-ima-video>
tag.
