Hello issman,
FV Player Pro 6.0.5.4 was released and it includes the iframe embedding fix which we did based on your report. Please let us know if you notice any issues.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Can the playlist colors be edited?Hello Terry,
we released FV Player 6.0.5.4 which adds color settings for Playlist Background, Playlist Active Item and Playlist Font.

currently the feed returns 404 error. Perhaps you stopped using our plugin?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Video Ads (Pro)Hello Ron,
we will work on adding Google Analytics tracking for the FV Player Pro Video ads. I guess we can just create a new set of events (Custom Ad Start, Custom Ad End, Custom Ad Skip, Custom Ad Click) and use the user defined ad names.
If you use the Vimeo Pro file URLs they will work with Vimeo stats.

Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Steve,
please make sure you login at https://foliovision.com/login and then head over to https://foliovision.com/support/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/troubleshooting/quality-switching-and-mobile-versions to post your replies here.
We haven’t expected HLS would be used for quality switching as it handles quality switching internaly. Please go ahead and post the URLs, we won’t publish them, then we can do some tests.
Firefox on mobile probably doesn’t play HLS. I’m not noticing issues with our HLS streams in IE 9: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/encrypted-hls-stream
There were some updates in FV Player, but they are pretty minor.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: How to style the youtube playlistHello David,
in the next version the vertical playlist will change to next/prev arrows when on mobile width. You can get our development version to test this out here: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/task-5072022-reponsive-playlist.zip
I wonder what improvements we could make to the next/prev arrows playlist style to make it more attractive.
Thanks,
MartinHello Marius,
foliovision.com has a working SSL certificate, as you can verify on https://www.digicert.com/help/
So I think this issue must be on your host’s side. We could set the license check call to not verify the SSL certificate in our code.
Are you having issues with domain mapping? If so, then please let us know what plugin for domain mapping you are using.
Thanks,
MartinHello Marius,
I checked your contact form submission. I actually don’t see any license checks for these domains. Please let us know what is the domain used for your Multisite – the domain of your sites without domain mapping.
There is possibility that the license check is blocked by your hosting provider as well. In the meantime you can download FV Player Pro from https://foliovision.com/my-licenses As long as you have the correct license key for your mapped domain the player will work with no logo (or your custom logo).
But we need to solve this to enable plugin updates for you.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHello issman,
could you please install FV Player from this zip file to your site? https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/task-5288924-imroved-iframe.zip Just deactivate the FV Player plugin and delete it, then install from the ZIP file.
Let’s see if the iframe for these videos will start working for you.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Steve,
could you please post the URL where we can see the issue along with a list of your video URLs for each quality?
Thanks,
MartinHello Marius,
could you please let us know what is your site domain? Both the one which is used for domain mapping and the one used for Multisite.
I tried to look for your licensed domains, but I wasn’t able to find anything.
Also, what domain mapping plugin are you using?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Pre-Roll Broke My Video.Hello Miles,
unfortunately your links won’t open, it says “Page not found”. What kind of video did you enter as the preroll ad? What kind of browser are you using?
You can check a demo of a preroll ad before CloudFront here: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/cloudfront-download-protection It’s the last 2 videos.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: playback speedHello Mitchell,
unfortunately we can’t fully control this behavior, as it’s the web browser playing the video and as you can see the implementation of speed controls in it differs from one browser to another.
There is a Web Audio API though: http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/webaudio/intro/ So perhaps it has its equivalent for video as well, but I was not able to find it.
Please let us know if there is anything else.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: How to remove social media icons/autostartHello Tj,
you can find a documenation of the autoplay feature here: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/post-interface-options
If you want all of your videos autoplay, then you can just use the option in Settings -> FV Player -> Sidewide Flowplayer Defaults -> Autoplay.
Please let us know if there is anything else.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHello issman,
sorry about not getting back to you. We were stuck ok this task, but now I think we found a solution for how it could work.
We will update this thread once we have a test version of the improved iframe embedding ready.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Can the playlist colors be edited?Hello Terry,
thank you for the suggestion. Currently you can only edit the playlist highlight color (same as progress bar). I don’t think we can couple these color settings for playlist background and font easily.
So I added your request to our Trello board: https://trello.com/b/nMI1nPFC/fv-player And we will talk about it in our team.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Steve,
you can go ahead with the update, however I’m not sure if it will work in your setup, since you uploaded the plugin using FTP. Your setup is a bit nonstandard, as it doesn’t allow installing plugin from a ZIP file through wp-admin.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Player not workingHello Thorsten,
please update to FV Player Pro 0.7.22. There was a typo in the code.
We are working on adding automated testing for our player in different use scenarios.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHello issman,
I see it works now. Can you send some page where the video is in the header section?
However the MP4 file has UTF8 characters in it and it won’t play when using the Flash engine. Make sure you use our video checker to receive automated warnings like this about your videos: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/faq#check-properties-checker-report-playing
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: kfm_new_directories is missingHello rmiddleton,
I wouldnt’ recommend going after the database files directly. When there is SQL issue it should be fixes using SQL. I recommend you look for some articles about how to fix tables when the MYD file is missing.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHello Issman,
are you sure “Use iframe embedding” in Settings -> FV Player -> Integrations/Compatibility is enabled and that “Disable Embed Button” in Settings -> FV Player -> Sidewide Flowplayer Defaults is not enabled?
What exact [fvplayer] shortcode are you using?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHello Issman,
could you please send over a URL to some page where the shortcode is in post content? It’s a very important troubleshooting step.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Steve,
I’m actually had to re-posting your email to support forums again, replying to the forum notifications doesn’t put the reply to the forums.
I see what issue you are facing – as long as the content of the css/ and js/ folders is updated you won’t have any issues. Your FTP client probably kept these folders intact and overwrite just the contained files.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHello Issman,
since you have broungh two licenses we will try to improve this now.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: kfm_new_directories is missingHello rmiddleton,
it almost looks like the table has crashed. You can try to run optimization on it:
OPTIMIZE TABLE kfm_new_directories;
Or you can also remove all of the kfm_… tables as they will be automatically re-created.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not foundHello Issman,
I see that you are using some special theme which lets you insert the video into a special field rather than the post content. Your goal is to have to video show up above the post content.
However then we are not able to find the video when doing the parsing for the iframe video embed code in FV Player.
I wonder if we could fix this by parsing the full page HTML code. Perhaps it would be a more fail-safe way of doing this, although a bit slower.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Embed: player not found8 years ago in reply to: double control bar S3 videosHello chasebank,
this looks like a plugin or theme conflict. Seems like there is a MediaElement player being appended into FV Player instances. We posted a fix to a similar issue in WPLMS Theme here: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/compatibility -> WPLMS Theme
Does it happen even when using the default WordPress theme?
You can also buy our Pro support and we will fix the issue right on your website: http://foliovision.com/pro-support
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Steve,
I’m actually re-posting your emails here from our support system, as it’s somehow not recognizing your email address.
You need to have both FV Player and FV Player Pro running at the same time. You are right about how to upload the plugin using FTP. However make sure you check wp-admin -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin, most WordPress sites allow you to upload the plugin ZIP file directly there.
Please use our contact form if you have any other questions: https://foliovision.com/about/contact
Thanks,
MartinHello yalrighty,
could you please post the URL where we can see the video? Does it match the domains entered in crossdomain.xml?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: iOS Youtube playlist problemHello David,
our Beta release includes improved YouTube loading for mobile. Here’s how to switch to it: https://foliovision.com/2016/06/switching-pro-player-to-beta
It seems this bug affects both the “current” and beta versions. We released FV Player Pro 0.6.21 with a fix for this. Unfortunately it requires that the user clicks the play icon to get another playlist item playing, due to iPhone limitations.
I also see that when you start by clicking the playlist item on iPhone rather than the player you have to click it twice to get that item to load up in the player. We will fix that.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Autoplay scrollHello Vincent,
sorry about the confusion, I realized this improvement is in beta version only. Could you please try to switch to beta? It’s really easy and here is a guide for you: https://foliovision.com/2016/06/switching-pro-player-to-beta
If it works for you, then we can put it into the Release version.
Thanks,
MartinHello Haris,
I see, so LMS is a different theme than WPLMS.
Are you in contact with the theme developer? Could you please ask if they can give us a copy of the template so that we can check the compatibility issue with our plugin?
You are also order our Pro support and we will check and solve (or recommend a fix to the theme author if it’s their bug) this issue for you right on your website: http://foliovision.com/pro-support
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Autoplay scrollHello Vincent,
please check if your license key is matching what’s on https://foliovision.com/my-licenses
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Steve,
you need to login at https://foliovision.com/login with your sr…..k@g…..com account, then you will see your license and will get a chance to download a copy of FV Player Pro at https://foliovision.com/my-licenses
PS: I posted your messages here. You replied to the forum notifications directly and our ticketing system put in bad email address. So my reply to you was not delivered.
Thanks,
MartinHello yalrighty,
it plays for me in browsers which support HLS natively – Safari on OS, iPad etc. In other browser it doesn’t play for me even if Flash is installed, as the access in http://veetle.com/crossdomain.xml is locked down to your domains only.
Please let us know what browser you are having issues with.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Player controls not workingHello Thorsten,
I can see the issue, I fixed the player control bar to work after a failed VPAID ad load when using your video type. Please upgrade to FV Player VAST 0.6.10.
Please post about your VAST issues with no ads playing into your existing threads: https://foliovision.com/support/fv-player-vast/bug-reports/ads-running-in-background#post-36048
Thanks,
MartinHello Haris,
I had a look here and I can see WPLMS version 2.1.1 is the last version: https://themeforest.net/item/wplms-learning-management-system/6780226?s_rank=1
Are you sure 3.0 is not the version number of something else, like the child theme?
I see the author of WPLMS is Vibethemes: http://vibethemes.com/envato/wplms/documentation/
So are you really testing just FV Player + WPLMS or is there any child theme in the mix as well?
Thanks,
MartinHello Chris,
thank you for the suggestion. We don’t have any plans to improve the AWS integration at this point. The AWS is hard to configure, so we are looking some easier video CDN and encoding services.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Autoplay scrollHello Vincent,
yes, this was added in version 0.7.17 and it’s the new fixed behavior of the scroll autoplay. I see I forgot to mention that in the changelog.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: How to style the youtube playlistHello yalrighty,
could you please post some example of such URL? On our demo page https://foliovision.com/player/demos/hls-stream we have HLS stream https://d3kqo6411ge1e5.cloudfront.net/swen_lake_reloaded/index.m3u8 and it works well.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Sprite Splash Image – How ToHello Matt,
we talked about this in our team and we will work on adding meaningfull classes for the playlist items.
Thanks,
MartinHello Haris,
please let us know what WPLMS version you are using. I haven’t noticed issues on WPLMS 1.7.0.
What version of FV WordPress Flowplayer have you used before?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: FV Player 6.0.5.1 generates error messageHello Ben,
thank you for the follow up!
You can keep using the special version, you will be getting updates. I releated this update to WordPress.org now as a background update.
You can always use just the wp-admin theme preview feature (and browse to the problematic post in it if it only happens on some post).
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Page not found when entering video ad infoHello William,
I haven’t come into a problem like this previously, so I’m not sure. Are you using any security plugin and does this happen even if you disable all the other plugins?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: remove youtube watermarkHello Ron,
you can use the “Remove logo” option, just switch FV Player Pro to beta: https://foliovision.com/2016/06/switching-pro-player-to-beta
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Problem with Youtube Playlists8 years ago in reply to: Sprite Splash Image – How ToHello mdchev,
I see your issue. Are you using a CDN for your website? Perhaps using that could improve your load times of these images and it would be a benefit for your site in overall.
I see that we could be adding a special class for each playlist thumbnail which would be basted on the video file name (how-to-understand-css.mp4 would become .how-to-understand-css class). I’ll mention this in our team meeting.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: add video not workingHello Bash,
thank you for posting the details. Could you please reinstall the plugin from https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/master.zip and let us know if it works for you now? The fix I added works for us, but I want to make sure it works for you as well before doing a new release.
I like you avatar by the way, that was my most favorite game when I programmed in QBasic.
Thanks,
MartinHello Shawn,
since you are our licensed user I was able to have a look at the issue on your site directly.
I found there is a CSS line like this in your theme:
video { opacity: 0 }
That makes any HTML5 video element invisible. That code is in the part of your site
element in HTML comments which read: “just for video protection” and “just for iphones end”.Here a quick fix for the issue, just add this to your theme stylesheet or any custom CSS field of your theme:
.flowplayer video { opacity: 1 }
Are you using a paid theme? In that case I recommend you contact your theme developer about this and ask them for a proper fix.
Or is it a template which you work on? Then let us know what is it you are trying to achieve. It looks like this could work well for iPhone, but for other devices it only causes trouble and we do not recommend it.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Problem with Youtube PlaylistsHello David,
could you please post the shortcode you are using for the playlist here?
Could you please check your Google Developer API key as well? https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/youtube-with-fv-player#Connecting-with-Google
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: FV Player 6.0.5.1 generates error messageHello Ben,
could you please check if it’s happening even when using a default WordPress theme? I’m not able to reproduce this bug.
But you can grab a new copy of our plugin from here: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/master.zip (just delete the plugin you have currently installed and install from the ZIP file which you download) It’s not released on WordPress.org yet, but I put in the fix for you to test.
However since I wasn’t able to reproduce this, I can’t guarantee there won’t be some other warning popping up for you.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: FV Player 6.0.5.1 generates error messageHello Jeorg,
please update to FV Player 6.0.5.3 (released just now) which fixes this issue.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Page not found when entering video ad infoHello William,
what happens when you enter just something like “test” into the “Video” field instead of the actual mp4 URL?
I think this might be caused by some tightened security setting of your host. It might be detecting our options screen saving as a suspicious request, although there is no reason for it.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Max Responsive Video player sizeHello Victor,
make sure Settings -> FV Player -> Integrations/Compatibility -> “Always use fixed size player” is not enabled. Then the videos should be responsive if your theme is responsive. If you see a problem, please test with a default WordPress theme – you can use the theme preview feature in wp-admin.
You can also set Settings -> FV Player -> Sidewide Flowplayer Defaults -> “Default Video Size”. To make most of your videos look good in your theme – based on the content column width.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Svete,
no, you won’t loose any videos or settings by deleting FV Player Pro 0.1.8.3.1 and putting up the latest version. You should be able to install it using WordPress if it offers you a chance to upload the plugin ZIP file in wp-admin -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload Plugin.
Thanks,
MartinHello Victor,
I’m not sure what that plugin is goind with the YouTube events. You would have to ask the plugin author about it. It should not interact with YouTube videos placed in div.flowplayer elements or we need an explanation of what it’s trying to do with them.
I put https://wordpress.org/plugins/youtube-embed-plus/ on our list of incompatible plugins for now:
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Thumbnails not showing in playerHello Erica,
I was not able to reproduce the issue.
Could you please post some sample YouTube video on a accessible page and send a link for that page to us? Please also attach the shortcode which you are using.
Thanks,
MartinHello Soumaya,
it meas the calcualted signature for your CloudFront URL is not valid.
1) Are you sure you entered the correct Key Pair? https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/serving-private-cloudfront#keys
2) Notice the video checker says “Video Issues”. Could you please click that and send over the reporty? Perhaps there is some obvious issue right there.
Thanks,
MartinHello Victor,
I’m still seeing the same malfunction.
If it’s not the Fullwidth Audio Player, then it must be this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/youtube-embed-plus/
Make sure you clear your minify cache between the tests.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: fv-html5: Video file not foundHello Soumaya,
so you should try to setup just Amazon S3 and see if it works for you.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Download buttonHello Moisés,
not currently, but I recorded your idea in our Trello board: https://trello.com/b/nMI1nPFC/fv-player
I’ll mention this feature request to our team as well.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Thumbnails not showing in playerHello Erica,
so the playlist is consisting of YouTube videos? Have you tried to setup the Google API key for YouTube and re-save the post? https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/youtube-with-fv-player#Connecting-with-Google
Please also try to save the playlist in a new post and remove your custom splash screens before saving it, just to see if there is any bug when mixing the automated YouTube splash screens with custom ones.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: quality switching and mobile versionsHello Steve,
you should be seeing an update for FV Player Pro. If it’s not there and you are using some older version (version much lower than 0.6 or 0.7) you can get a copy at https://foliovision.com/login with your email address which you used to purchase the license.
The “hd” might be located anywhere in the URL, but I recommed you make it at least “_hd” to make sure it doesn’t overwrite some other part of the URL.
The mobile feature which you are currently using is much more simple and it’s for the users of the free FV Player mainly.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Google DFP integrationHello Kobus,
1) please check our Google Ads guide here: https://foliovision.com/player/ads/incorporating-google-adsense
See step 5. where the ad code gets inserted. That’s where you can put in a div with your desired ID.
However such div only becomes visible once the video starts playing so I’m not sure if your ad code in header will be effective. So please use a different kind of ad embed code, like we do in our guide.
2) Your ad URL looks like a VAST video ad tag. To use that you would have to buy our FV Player VAST: https://foliovision.com/player/vast
You can actually test your VAST ad tag here: https://foliovision.com/player/vast/tester
Video Ads block of FV Player Pro expects a video file.
Thanks,
MartinHello Igor,
I checked that thread, you actually said that the [fvplayer] shortcode doesn’t work for you.
But for Todayweb the shortcode works, see the first reply in this thread.
Are you sure the shortcode doesn’t work at all and that you put in some video src=”…” in it? You can try to use a shortcode like this:
[fvplayer src="http://video-cdn-public.foliovision.com/Swan+Lake+Reloaded-sd.mp4"]
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Video player absent in RSS feedHello Kobus,
we worked on this but when reading the RSS feed in Thunderbird the scripts are not getting executed, not even in iframes. So I’m not sure if we can rely on RSS feed to understand all the scripts and provide an iframe version of our player in it. If it’s just for your app, then you should be using some other kind of feed.
You can test a dev version of our plugin found in this ZIP file, perhaps it helps with your issue: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/task-5072143-RSS-iframe.zip
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: User BookmarksHello John,
we talked about this in our team and we will make it possible to get a link to play the exact video at the exact time in the FV Player share bar. We will leave it up to the users to store a bookmark for the URL.
You can also find your request on our Trello board: https://trello.com/b/nMI1nPFC/fv-player -> User Bookmark within a video
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: User BookmarksHello John,
could you please explain what you mean by “within a video”? Do you mean that it should be a button in the player, or that it should link to exact time in the video?
Thanks,
MartinHello Victor,
I’m noticing some display issues on desktop as well. I have to pause the video and then resume it to see the picture – which is the second issue you have been mentioning.
It appears you are using some plugin which hooks into YouTube API events – Fullwidth Audio Player. Could you please try to disable that plugin and see if you are still having these issues with FV Player?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: video does not catch on mobileHello Moisés,
I think Google Chrome on Android should be giving a user a chance to accept the bad certificate, as it’s just a video. Perhaps it should even accept it automatically.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: User BookmarksHello John,
we are working on a feature to allow liknig to a specific playlist item via URL, so I see it could work for an exact time in video (like on YouTube).
We will check your idea in our team.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: fv-html5: Video file not foundHello Soumaya,
my recommendation is that you setup a brand new S3 and new CloudFront instance and follow our guide step by step: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/serving-private-cloudfront Perhaps you made a mistake with your current setup and it’s easier just to have a clean start.
You can also purchase our pro support to help you with CloudFront hands-on here: https://foliovision.com/player/available-services-list-prices -> Setting up Cloudfront Distribution
Here is our article about video download protection outlining the different possibilities: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/securing-your-video/protecting-video-from-downloading
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: fv-html5: Video file not foundHello Soumaya,
if you want the video to be downloadable without the URL signature, then you should be setuping a new S3 bucket and new CloudFront distribution for it.
You probably have a problem with the “Restrict Viewer Access” or “Restrict Bucket Access ” as documented here: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/serving-private-cloudfront
Also, if you setup a new S3 and new CloudFront instance and follow our guide step by step you are more likely to figure this out as well.
Thanks,
MartinHello John,
the encrypted HLS stream has to be encoded as such. The Vimeo HLS streams won’t work with this, it won’t allow you to add extra protection for these.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: fv-html5: Video file not foundHello Soumaya,
please login at https://foliovision.com/login
Then you will be able to upload screenshots here.
You can also purchase our pro support to help you with CloudFront hands-on here: https://foliovision.com/player/available-services-list-prices -> Setting up Cloudfront Distribution
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: fv-html5: Video file not found8 years ago in reply to: video does not catch on mobileHello Moisés,
I found your message that you had issues with it on Google Chrome on mobile phone.
It fails as video23.mais.uol.com.br doesn’t have a trusted SSL certificate.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: video does not catch on mobileHello Moisés,
I checked your site and the video played for me on iPhone, is there any issue you are having?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: show from rightHello Ali,
do you see the same behavior when you switch to some default WordPress theme? You can just use the preview function as well.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: add video not workingHello Glogic and Bash,
are you saying that our button stops working in the moment when you install “Toolset Types”, or only when used on custom post types?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Amazon S3: Request is not yet validHello Steve,
thank you for the follow up. Was is the time setting issue? Do you see correct time now?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Amazon S3: Request is not yet validHello Steve,
the site loads now. The “Error 522” was by CloudFlare. If you use that, then it probably caches your HTML. Make sure you follow the advice on caching here: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/secure-amazon-s3-guide -> Step 18.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Amazon S3: Request is not yet validHello Steve,
could you please check if there were any changes?
The error message “Request is not yet valid” seems strange, have you changed any of the time/date settings? Does the clock on your server work properly (does it show correct time including minute and seconds in Settings -> General -> Timezone)?
The link to your plrvideodirect.com site currently won’t load, it gives “Error 522”.
Thanks,
MartinHello Victor,
FV Player Pro 0.7.17 which we released yesterday has a drop down menu next to the “FV Player Pro” title of its settings screen. You are able to use that drop down menu to switch to “Beta” version which includes the improved YouTube loading for mobile.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: fv-html5: Video file not foundHello Soumaya,
have you used our CloudFront guide? https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/serving-private-cloudfront
Pleaes double check you followed the step 7. in it properly.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Issue with ajax + Safari audio overlappingHello Evelina,
I changed the code which I posted above to this:
jQuery(document).ready(function($){ $('.unit_content').on('unit_traverse',function(){ if($('.flowplayer').length){ $('.flowplayer').each(function(){ if( !$(this).data('flowplayer') ) $(this).flowplayer(); }); } }); });
Now I can switch between the unit pages 1,2,3,4 without issues.
Could you please confirm that it works better now?
Could you please try it on the dev site as well to see if it helps with the Safari issue (double audio track playing).
Thanks,
MartinHello todayweb,
since Enfold is a paid theme it’s not easy for us to check whether is uses “media_buttons” WP action hook. Could you please submit a support ticket to the theme developers?
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: youtube playlist limitationHello Fabio,
I see we could allow you to use a shortcode attribute like count=”5″, so then it could be:
[fvplayer src="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdgCSoJzrmKGrTcFuxF9dJfWJ0BookIUC" count="5"]
However I’m not sure how we could present that in the shortcode editor. Adding a new fields just for this seems like a waste of space as most people won’t be using it, so it’s asking for checkbox in Post Interface Options as well.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: How to style the youtube playlistHello Fabio,
thank you for the suggestion, I see that the vertical playlist would be more compact on mobile if it would change to next/prev arrows. We need to improve that.
Do you have any other improvements or model websites in mind?
Thanks,
MartinHello Igor,
are you using Enfold theme as well? Are you able to check if it uses media_buttons WordPress action hook?
Thanks,
MartinHello fmastro,
the styling on that is a bit off, so you don’t see the full note. It links to this guide to help everybody with the same issue: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/installation#fixing-broken-javascript
Please let us know if you can see the error on your site causing our player to fail now.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Video player absent in RSS feedHello Kobus,
WordPress can do this as they simply load the video from YouTube, for us there is no easy option.
In our case it’s not so simple, but I see we could be inserting similar iframes if the iframe embedding is enabled: https://foliovision.com/2016/04/improved-iframe-embedding

Martin8 years ago in reply to: show from rightHello Ali,
are you using a RTL (Right-to-Left) language?
This might be caused by a declaration like this in your CSS:
body {
direction: rtl;
}If you want to revert that, simply add the following CSS rule to your theme stylesheet or custom CSS file or field:
.flowplayer {
direction: ltr;
}Thanks,
MartinHello Joel,
the beta version of FV Player Pro with HLS encryption feature is almost out, it’s just too late today to make a new release.
In the meantime we added new steps for encrypted HLS into the documentation: https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/securing-your-video/hls-stream There are some screenshots to be added and some more testing to do.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Issue with ajax + Safari audio overlappingHello Evelina,
I can see the issue with the sub-unit buttons. I guess we should rather fix our playlist technology to work with WPLMS in a hurry, as what you put in is another piece of technology to troubleshoot. So it would make more sense to use the similar function of our player.
Thanks,
MartinHello Victor,
we are working on allowing our users to use FV Player Pro beta version more easily. As soon as that is released, you will be able to switch to the new beta version and make sure the YouTube videos play well for you.
Thanks,
MartinHello Ben,
you can use the iframe embedding and the code will be a lot nicer: https://foliovision.com/2016/04/improved-iframe-embedding
We are in a process of reworking the custom player buttons, we will put up the download button in as a feature request.
Thanks,
Martin8 years ago in reply to: Og vidéo integrationHello Vincent,
thank you for the RTL Info example. I checked what they do and indeed they are using a SWF to get the work done.
However FV Player is HTML5 video player with Flash compatibility and fallback. The SWF alone can’t be used as a full-featured player.
We could test if iframes would work for this, as our player supports iframe embedding and OG tag for video type can be set as following: <meta property=”og:video:type” content=”text/html”>
But it appears your site would have to be whitelisted by Facebook to allow this (YouTube has it). I had a try and the iframe URL was simply put into the <video> tag rather than using it for the iframe. So it appears you can only insert SWF or a MP4 file as documented here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/opengraph/object-properties -> og:video:type
Thanks,
Martin
