Hello Bucao,

please make sure you have the “Force iframe Embedding” option unchecked, as otherwise all Vimeo videos will use the standard Vimeo iframe codes. That way the Vimeo playlists and lightbox won’t work.

We will improve the description of that setting in indicate it’s only good when you use single vidoes and not playlists.

just a quick reply – the Firefox error is related to your Adobe Flash being outdated. You should be seeing a note from it about upgrade being available, or you can reinstall it from: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ What we can do on our end to improve it is include the Flowplayer HLS JS plugin, then HLS streams would be playable without Flash.

so you are using Toolset Types to create custom post types. Are you changing the custom post type edit post screen somehow with it?

How does our button misbehave? We insert its script on wp-admin only if the URL matches post.php or post-new.php. Does it match in case of using Toolset Types plugin?

Working edit_form_after_editor action hook is also important. Does it execute?

1) Autoplay ON – I’m able to see the issue on the dev site in Safari. It’s quite tricky, as the video start to autoplay before Flowplayer has a chance to get a hold of it.

I see you are using this code to init the player in Ajax loaded content, as recommended by WPLMS:

Could you please remove it for a test and see how it changes the behavior?

is that a MP4 or a HLS video? Please let us know. It’s unfortunate that Android 6.0.1 handles this worse than Android 4.3 (when I can confirm it works at least in Chrome).

Hello ben,

thank you for sharing the details of your issue. I checked Google Chrome on Android 4.3 and it sends the HTTP referer for both mp4 and m3u8.

Are you using the stock Android browser? What version? It might not be sending the referer information for neither mp4 nor m3u8. Unfortunately there is no debugging tool for it, so I’m not able to check this easily.

here’s what I’m seeing:

1) I go here and start the course: http://dev.harp-school.com/course/passenger-let-her-go/
2) It takes me to http://dev.harp-school.com/core/start-course/ when I click “Start course”
3) Then I can see a video playing
4) When I click “Let her go – Passenger (3)” in sidebar it loads another player which doesn’t play

The problem is that WPLMS loads the content using Ajax and our footer hooks don’t execute that way. It should work fine with single videos though. I’ll mention this issue on our team meeting.

We are also not the Flowplayer team, we only use core Flowplayer inside of our plugin and add a lot of extra functions to it.

you should be asking your ad provider for some VAST ad which will give your HTML5 ads without requirement of Flash.

The ad URL which you are using is giving you VPAID Flash ads.

your splash image should have the same aspect ratio as the video and the player should have the same aspect ratio as the video as well to make sure it looks best.

When using direct file link from Vimeo the only advantage is that it works with Vimeo stats. With our advanced integration you get quality switching and subtitles working and also the splash image.

can you try t remove the splash=”…” part of the shortcode completely and then insert it again using the link you copied?

You can also try to open the “Text” tab of the WordPress post editor. There might be some weird HTML in your shortcode. If you let us know what it is, perhaps we can improve our parsing to be more resilient.

Your page looks like there is a preroll video ad but I don’t see it in the code.

I checked the cached versions of your site and I can see it worked when you used FV Player 6.0.4.18 and FV Player Pro 0.7.5, so I’ll test upgrading from that now.

Hello Vincent,

your setup makes sense as the first ad which you set to use Flash will play on a computer with Flash. Computer without Flash will skip it and go for the second one and mobile will play one of the HTML5 ads – if it really provides a HTML5 ad.

However you are using the same ad URL for first 2 ads and it’s up to your ad provider to put in Flash or HTML5 ads, then engine setting in FV Player VAST doens’t change that.

I see having a special field for the mobile ad would make sense here.

your ad seems to deliver a Flash VPAID. You entered the same ad with both Flash and HTML5 engine, but that doesn’t change the fact. You should be asking your ad provider if they can give you HTML5 VAST ads or JavaScript VPAID ads.

Perhaps you put in a bad .htaccess rule or something. Have you tried to re-upload the video under different name and try playing that?

Our login doesn’t work for http://dev.harp-school.com/all-courses – is there any specific course we should be taking? Then one I opened didn’t had FV Player on it.

We would like to improve our compatibility with WPLMS or suggest fixes to its developers.

actually it’s just a typo. You should be adding caption=”true” to the shortcode and not captions=”true”. Sorry about that.

mixing this video type with VAST ad is tricky only on iPad/iPhone. It could work, but there would be another touch required to have the ad play as these devices won’t let you play any video without direct user interaction.

On Android once you start playing a single video on a page you can play any other video (such as ad) automatically, but on iPad/iPhone it don’t work when the video starts playing in some other frame, which is the cause here.

Having just the ad play would be tricky, are you sure you ad network permits it?

2) The fullscreen button works for me in both Safari and Chrome on your site. Please let us know what browser you are using.

the key is kept in the website database. Even if you get a tool to download the TS segments from a m3u8 file and put them all together the resulting video won’t play as it will remain encrypted.

are you using the JS minify/combine? We started using it in WP Rocket and we noticed issues as well. We need to figure out why our player scripts have issues with the minify/combine process.

In the meantime please exclude these from JS optimization:

we disabled all the JavaScript except for jQuery and FV Player on a copy of your site HTML and now our player is not jumping anymore in IE 10. So I guess one of the JavaScripts must be doing something wrong with it.

I’m not sure what could be the error here.

In the meantime, please make sure you are not using WP_DEBUG – check your wp-config.php and make sure it’s not enabled: https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG

It might also depend on your web host – you should be able to ask your server support to disable displaying of PHP errors and warnings.

3) Continue playing where the user stopped watching the video is something we want to add. However it also means the video would continue playing where user left you website even if he comes back to your site week after.

4) Unfortunately autoplay won’t work on mobile devices, that’s how they work.

5) The video could be hosted anywhere on Amazon, no problem.

I’ll check with our team about when we could work on this and what features we would like to add.

I see, we made a mistake in the version control and these titles started to appear again. There is no setting required for this, we just removed these titles.

Please check new version of FV Player Pro later today it will fix the issue. If you use Google Analytics for your Vimeo videos, you will have to update FV Player as well to keep getting correct data – the FV Player Pro changelog will tell you so.

I checked this issue on your site and debugged the JavaScript error as I wanted to make sure our new code doesn’t have some terrible bug in it.

I figured out the issue is caused by this line of JavaScript in your theme:

Array.prototype.forEach2= …

I made our code more resilient and released FV Player Pro 0.7.6. Please update to it and let us know if you still have issues.

IE 10 – I can see that the animations are not there anymore, but the video still jumps up and down. Unfortunately our CSS designer is sick today, so he couldn’t look deeper into it.

I included your CSS fix in our code, thank you!

Alec got “html5: Unsupported video format” in Firefox as he doesn’t use Flash in it and has older OS X which doesn’t allow Firefox to play mp4 in HTML5 video engine.

nice playing! We will check if we can force using of our fullscreen for videos with subtitles.

I see there is no loading animation. Does it occur even if you use the default WordPress theme? It appears there was been some customization to the player styles which could cause this.

1) Do you mean it’s covered by your theme logo and navigation? You should be able to use #fv_player_pro_boxWrapper to solve your issue. It already has z-index: 9999.

2) You can use the shortcode editor to fill in the video width and height, or just add width=”1280″ height=”720″ to set some big size for the lightbox. It’s fully responsive as well.

3) Avada – could you please send us some link where we can check the page editor used in that theme? Is it the default WordPress editor or some kind of custom editor?

Hello Cary,

when using the anchor with class colorbox it respects the defaults from Settings -> FV Player -> Sidewide Flowplayer Defaults.

You can also use a shortcode like [fvplayer src="video.mp4" lightbox="text" caption="anchor text"] to show the link which opens the lightbox and you can put in additional parameters to the shortcode that way. 1) you can use HTML like this to have a MP4 file show up in lightbox and open it by clicking on a link:

<a href="video.mp4" class="colorbox">lightbox</a>

We are actually working on the documentation these days, so we should be able to finish it today.

2) Please let us know what theme you are using. It’s weird that the shortcode button doesn’t work on your pages. Are you using any special editor or is any special editor built-in into your theme?

the subtitles don’t work in the native fullscreen more as far as I can tell and Mozilla documentation tells us the same: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Web/HTML/Element/track -> Browser compatibility

We started to use the native mobile fullscreen as it’s in general easier to use interface on smaller screens, but I see we will have to use the Flowplayer full-screen mode (CSS) if there are subtitles. So we will work on that.

the crossdomain.xml has to be located where the stream is hosted. That means not your website, but here: http://msh0161.stream.seeweb.it/crossdomain.xml

Are you able to put in such file? What software or service do you use for the live streams?

this works, however I’m noticing a bug in it with mobile device which we need to fix – if you play YouTube video and then mp4, it won’t start the playback for the mp4 properly. It works the other way though.

could you please remember what version did you used before? Please let us know what version of Android you are using as well.

The VTT subtitles might be not working for your CloudFront because of missing cross-origin policy – that is inserted in the HTTP headers.

actually there is nothing to worry about, it’s just that FV Player thinks that layerslider.kreaturamedia.jquery.js is another copy of jQuery on the website. We will improve this template check to not trigger the false alarm and include the fix in next version.

I see the problem now, the Flash engine can play the HLS stream, so it picks the HLS stream on the second video and not RTMP. But the HLS fails to play as there is no crossdomain.xml: https://foliovision.com/player/hls-stream -> step 1. (please ignore the part about doing this via Amazon S3)

We will check the order of the streams and try to prioritize RTMP stream over HLS for desktop computers with Flash.

your setup looks good, however the streams are not currently live, so it appears.

Your shortcode which combines HLS and RTMP should work just fine. The warning which you see comes from our video checker, so I guess it’s not detecting your m3u8 properly. Does the second player fail to play the RTMP on desktop computers with Flash?
