Hello Adams,
downloading a video is one thing, but getting it to play is something else. Are you sure you could play our video streams after downloading?
The video on https://support.theoplayer.com/hc/en-us/articles/206766939-AES-128-Content-Protection is encrypted, but the decryption keys are just plain files, so I was able to download and play that one very quickly.
With https://s3vooplayer-5273.kxcdn.com/vooplayerv4/100011/5a8ddc5136339170058678playlist-1080-e.m3u8 it’s slightly more difficult, as the tool I was using doesn’t see to be able to load some segment.
Thanks,

MartinHello Paulo,
we did reply directly to your email address 5 days ago, could you please check if the email went to Junk or Spam folder by accident, mark it “no spam” and reply there?
Thanks,
MartinHello Kiran,
is your issue here different from what we discussed here? https://foliovision.com/support/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/bug-reports/unable-to-insert-video-in-a-page-or-post-in-wordpress
You mentioned that is started to work in that thread. You can get the fixed plugin by reinstalling from reinstall from https://wordpress.org/plugins/fv-wordpress-flowplayer To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with out plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Thanks,
MartinHello Encodia,
I tested with WPBakery Visual Composer 5.0.1 and I didn’t run into any issues. I only noticed that the FV Player editor button doesn’t work in the Frontend editor (it that the modal editor which you mentioned?), but it worked just fine in the Backend editor.
I also tried version 5.5.6, which is now called WPBakery Page Builder. It worked too.
Also, FV Player doesn’t contain the “var editor = window.tinymce.activeEditor” code. We use activeEditor property of tinymce, but we don’t change it in any way.
Thanks,
MartinHello Encodia,
I’m sorry about dropping the ball, we talked about your issue internally but nobody posted the reply back to you.
I’m going to check Visual Composer now, it used to work before.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Google Analytics TrackingHello MM,
regarding GA 4 – we checked the quartile tracking on https://foliovision.com/player/demos/hls-stream and https://foliovision.com/player/demos/encrypted-hls-stream and found no issues.
However your screenshot shows some Event Label which ends in “Teaser” – please check the global list of events to see if you are getting any quartiles tracked for HLS streams. Perhaps they appear under a different name somehow?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: MPEG-DASH – Video Skipping on MobileHello Devin,
unfortunately there are no news about the logo issue yet, we haven’t heard back from Flowplayer team yet.
Thank you for the bug report. The issue can be see as the time goes form 00:20 to 00:21 and to 00:22. It appears to only happen if the “Font Face” is set to “(inherit from template)” though. We will check it out.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: New lightbox doesn’t work on my websiteHello Ákos,
I checked this and it’s going to be tricky with the styling, if your theme is bundling the fancyBox styling in it.
But you can check with this new plugin version here: https://github.com/foliovision/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/archive/fancybox-fix.zip Just reinstall the plugin from that ZIP file. To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with out plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Thanks,
MartinHello Project V.,
unfortunately we were busy solving issues related to HLS stream error handling in Safari and iOS. We have to move this to the end of august.
Here is a quick technology demo: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/alternative-sources
Thanks,
MartinHello Kiran,
1) Please post this shortcode to some empty page and see if it works: [fvplayer src="https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/fv-player-unprotected/dominika-960-31_HD.mp4"]
Are you saying our editor won’t insert the shortcode for you, or that it inserts something but it won’t the show the video? Do you see the player at all?
2) That is a weird error. Perhaps something on your website is checking for updates differently. I included a fix for this issue for the next release, or you can reinstall from https://wordpress.org/plugins/fv-wordpress-flowplayer
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Duplicate play buttons on mobileHello Michael,
FV Player Pro 6.6.7 (or 7.1.12.726 is you are on beta) fixed this. It was a bug caused by us improving the player loading on sites with deferred JavaScript loading few weeks ago.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: i want add new subttitles language – HebrewHello Bader,
it appears the Hebrew is under the IW country code, which must be a mistake. We will get it fixed.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Audio player issuesHello Evélina,
FV Player 7 (currently in Beta) moves the speed control into control bar, so that issue is solved: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/playback-speed But I will check how that appears on the audio player.
We will get he logo issue fixed, talk about the prev/next buttons (currently these are available in overlay as one of the playlist styles, but that only makes sense on a video playlist) and the “Now Playing” text.
It’s true that the attachments can’t be posted when creating a thread, we will check that out too.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: adsterra VAST CODE doesn’t appearHello Al-Asbahi,
our documentation of the VAST URL tags is here: https://foliovision.com/player/vast/url-tags
So you can simply use [player_width], [player_height], [random_number] and [permalink].
Thanks,
MartinHello Paulo,
are you also sure the mobile VAST is not related to mobile apps? Could you please send us some more details about these VAST tags? You can even post them here and we won’t publish it.
Thanks,
MartinHello Paulo,
thank you for the feature request. I think most ad providers check the device type on their end. For now I guess you can just disable FV Player VAST mobile support using the checkbox on its settings and use the desktop tag.
We will discuss your request in our team.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: HLS encryption key is invalidHello Maxim,
please check what AWS region was used for the old HLS streams encryption. It’s easy to change the region setting in the top right corner without realizing it.
You can always check the past encodings in Sevices -> Elastic Transcoder -> Jobs. It’s best to set “Search By” to “Status” and then pick “Completed”. You will have to check in each Region separately.
Thanks,
MartinHello Ákos,
thank you for the bug report, we will get this fixed.
We are also working on a new database storage for FV Player. It has a Clone feature which you will be able to use to create a new player with the same settings and then just replace the file URL or so.
Thanks,
MartinHello Ákos,
the reload of Amazon S3 URL signature in case of it expiration has been added in FV Player Pro 6.6.1.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: MPEG-DASH – Video Skipping on MobileHello Devin,
no need to keep FV Player 7 Beta active for us. We are able to reproduce the logo issue with a hosts file too.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: MPEG-DASH – Video Skipping on MobileHello Devin,
unfortunately there is no easy way of removing it.
I will have to forward this issue to the core Flowplayer team. I did so now.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: MPEG-DASH – Video Skipping on MobileHello Devin,
the license key is correct. It might sound weird, but it might be caused by KeyCDN. We use it as well and we don’t have issues like this, so it’s strange.
But could you please disable use of KeyCDN in the WordPress plugin which you use and see if that helps?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: FV Player VASTHello Marco,
the issue with fresh Safari 11.0.3 not playing the autoplay YouTube video and the extra click to get the YouTube video to play on iOS has been fixed – new FV Player Pro has been released (6.6.7 or 7.1.12.726 as you are on beta).
We still need to check how to play the VAST ad with no sound if audible autoplay is not permitted.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: MPEG-DASH – Video Skipping on MobileHello Devin,
it should not be happening. If you see our logo, then your site was unable to fetch the new license key (Flowplayer requires us to do so). You can try to remove the license key which you have in Settings -> FV Player at the top of the screen and then hit the button to activate the license again.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: MPEG-DASH – Video Skipping on MobileHello Devin,
switching from Release to Beta and back is easy: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/switching-fv-player-pro-to-beta
You can read about all the changes here: https://foliovision.com/2018/06/fv-player-7-beta

Martin6 years ago in reply to: DASH not working from AWSHello PW,
it works fine for us, both in FV Player 6 and FV Player 7 Beta. You can check it out here: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/mpeg-dash -> MPD on AWS
Please let us know what browser you use, if it works for you on our website (the above link) and where you get the “Invalid data” error.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: FV Player VASTHello Marco,
please let us know what browser did you used in both cases. I was not able to find any issue on Chrome, Firefox. Please also try to open the stream from the first page directly (or just disable FV Player VAST for a bit) if the issue persists.
But here are the issues which we are resolving:
I’m working on the issues with https://foliovision.com/player/demos/youtube-vast-autoplay – fresh Safari 11.0.3 fails to play that one, I have to reload the page or come to the website again to get it to play.
When using iOS 11 I have to tap the video 3 times to get it to play too. We can bring that down to 2 taps, but a single tap won’t be possible as that’s how a YouTube video works – it’s an iframe and the VAST ad has to be served on top of it.
In fresh Google Chrome the VAST ad doesn’t play on video which is set to autoplay, it only plays when you unmute the video and then come to the page again. We should be able to let the ad play without sound.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: New lightbox doesn’t work on my websiteHello Ákos,
as you are a Pro user I checked your site briefly. I see that your theme (Jupiter) is already using fancyBox library which FV Player is using as well. And that is causing the issue, it just reports:
“fancyBox already initialized”
Please switch back to the release version for now and we will ensure FV Player’s fancyBox plays well with other plugins.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Server does not support HTTP range requests!Hello XT,
I found your report. It seems you are using CloudFlare. You should ask them about enabling the HTTP range requests, but perhaps they won’t support it. In that case you can get a subdomain which you can point to your web server directly, outside of CloudFlare, but it’s best to get a dedicated video CDN if you are serious about your web video.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Subtitle font sizeHello Cesar,
thank you for the bug report. New version of FV Player has been released. If you don’t see the up upgrade yet, please reinstall the plugin.
To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with out plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: MPEG-DASH – Video Skipping on MobileHello Devin,
some Android phones were using Dash, but we fixed that in FV Player Pro Beta 7.1.10.726. Please upgrade to that and you can disable the “Disable MPEG-DASH” setting again.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Server does not support HTTP range requests!Hello XT,
could you please send the report using our video checker? https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/how-to-use-video-checker

Martin6 years ago in reply to: Youtube WatermarkHello Michael,
FV Player Pro already uses the modestbranding option for YouTube. There is no way of changing the size of that logo.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Modified plugin file:Hello Peter,
I realized that we sometimes put up a new version of the plugin on wordpress.org for the beta testing. Our beta/release switch lets us do that. And it seems like Wordfence reports these changes to you.
So we should be keeping these two version separate, or use the stable tag on WordPress.org.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Modified plugin file:Hello Peter,
there are no changes to the files unless you make a plugin upgrade. If you want to be sure there is nothing wrong with these files I would suggest you download a fresh copy of the plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/fv-wordpress-flowplayer/ and the plugin folder from your website FTP and compare that using a tool like WinMerge or DeltaWalker, or just diff on the command line.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: FV Player VASTHello Marco,
we will check these VAST autoplay issues again. Hopefully we can let the ads play without sound if browser seems to block the audible autoplay.
Regarding the upgrade issue – please try to click the right mouse button on that upgrade link and let it open in a new browser tab. I’m not sure what could cause an error like that, but this approach should let you do the upgrade.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Subtitle font sizeHello Cesar,
the subtitle font size can be found in Settings -> FV Player -> Skin -> Subtitles.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: How to Create Subtitles6 years ago in reply to: Shortcodes in Custom PopupsHello Alec,
you can check the end of the video here to see how the popup would look like with the shortcode from that plugin is allowed: https://foliovision.com/2018/07/ether-kind-breeze
Perhaps we could integrate with the plugin – allow its shortcode and style it properly, or even make such function part of FV Player.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Author gravatars not served from cacheHello Will,
doing this is not so easy, as all the functions were written to work best with the comments.
You could use a code like this to preload the avatars which you need:
global $FV_Gravatar_Cache; if( !empty($FV_Gravatar_Cache) && method_exists($FV_Gravatar_Cache,'Cron') ) { $options = get_option( 'fv_gravatar_cache'); $FV_Gravatar_Cache->Cron( $your_email,$options['size'] ); }
However then you would still have to solve the issue of appending the new records to the WP cache, as the plugins reads from this:
$gravatars = wp_cache_get('fv_gravatars_set', 'fv_gravatars');
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: FV Player VASTHello Marco,
thank you for the screencast. It does capture the console log, but the “Log” entries in it is not enabled, so most of the messages remain hidden. Could you please check what these say when it doesn’t play the ad for you?
On my end I reloaded the page about 20 times with cache disabled and it always worked. I also tried to limit the network speed to “Good 3G” and it would still play.
But indeed FV Player VAST has some code in it which stops the ad loading if it takes too long.
We also worked on a feature which detects ad blockers and then removes the video asking you to disabled the ad blocker. Perhaps that could help with your issue as well.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: URL-Parameter for VideoHello Gerald,
it’s not supported out of the box, although you could code something with the fv_flowplayer_args_pre filter to achieve it. Our documentation features a code sample which is close to what you want: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/api-programming#filters
With FV Player you can also created Video Links which point to an exact video on some page and start it at a desired time: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/creating-video-links
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
the ad is set to fit into the available player dimensions. So if you put in a image which is 640×360 pixels and the player is only 360 pixels wide on a mobile the ad image will scale down to fit into it. I’m attaching a screenshot to illustrate that.
If you enter the ad size then the ad won’t show up if the player is smaller than the desired size.
Did you experience issues when uploading images to our forums? Please make sure you wait for it to finish uploading and until it shows a thumbnail before posting the message.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Vimeo reliability issuesHello Leho,
you can post the links here and just say it should not be published and we will redact these links. Or you can reply to the forum notifications and then it goes to our ticketing system.
Thanks,
MartinHello Leho,
thank you for the bug report!
I’m sorry about the issue you have been facing here, specially as we faced similar issues before with some other plugins. At certain scale issues like this can appear, specially when using wp_options.
We will adjust the update_option() call to not use autoload as you suggested. While it’s not a perfect solution (the wp_options table remains big) it will work for now, as we are moving to a new database model.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
FV Player Pro 6.6.6 (or 7.1.9.726 for Beta users) is out and it fixes the issue. From now on saving a post with [fvplayer] shortcode won’t break the ad HTML if there is a YouTube or Vimeo video which gets the splash screen during the post save.
I also see that the shortcode editor preview doesn’t show the ad. That will be improved with the new timeline actions.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
thank you for posting these shortcodes. The screenshot 4 already shows a broken code. The opening < symbol is missing. Also the “width” attribute is using special quote symbols which just break HTML.
But it appears you put the code in, you save the post, which grabs the Vimeo splash screen and that process breaks the HTML popup code. I was able to reproduce that bug now, so I’m working on a bugfix.
The new timeline actions will prevent issues like this altogether, as it will store everything in database rather than in shortcode. The shortcode feature of WordPress really has its limits.
Thanks,
MartinHello Project V.,
we created some code for this, but we would like to make it part of our new FV Player modular structure. I estimate it might be ready in the first week of August.
Thanks,
MartinHello Amr,
I was not able to reproduce this issue. I’m on a Mac, so I used a command like this to open a new Google Chrome browser without any user data associated – that means no records for Media Engagement Index – and the video still played once clicked.
Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --user-data-dir=fake-folder --incognito --auto-open-devtools-for-tabs {your page URL}
The error which you are getting should really only occur for videos which are set to autoplay.
Here is my exact user agent string:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.99 Safari/537.36"
Please find out about yours on http://www.whatsmyua.info/ and send it over.
Thanks,
MartinHello Medal,
what video type are you going to use? You should be able to copy the div.flowplayer element from your post HTML and use that. Then just include all the fv-wordpress-flowplayer and fv-player scripts in footer and the CSS file.
We will be working on a non-WordPress version of FV Player too.
Thanks,
MartinHello Amr,
are you using autoplay for that video? Are you using FV Player 7 Beta already? https://foliovision.com/2018/06/fv-player-7-beta
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
do you mean the video won’t play at all on Android? I tried using Chrome 67.0.3396.87 on Android 5.1.1 and it played perfectly fine.
However I’m noticing there is some other issue now – the ad markup can actually be found on http://www.martesana.tv/video-ultimate/ so why doesn’t the ad appear? I found that you FV Player CSS file is missing some of the CSS rules.
Please ensure that Settings -> FV Player -> Actions tab -> Ads -> Show styling options you have selected the default styling. It should be like this:
.wpfp_custom_ad { position: absolute; bottom: 10%; z-index: 2; width: 100%; } .wpfp_custom_ad_content { background: white; margin: 0 auto; position: relative }
Then the ad will finally appear. Perhaps you removed these CSS rules as you tried to make the ads work.
I see that we have to be more strict about styling for the new timeline actions feature.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Encrypted HLS Playlist TroubleHello Blayne,
we are doing some final testing now, hopefully I will be able to hand it off to you today.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: m3u8 now working on Chrome or FirefoxHello Amr,
please enable Settings -> FV Player -> Setup tab -> Integrations/Compatibility and check the box Enable HLS.js.
This setting will be default soon.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: FV Player VASTHello Marco,
thank you for the screencast. I see that you are using Ghostery and thus blocking the ads. So it’s normal that you don’t get any ads playing.
I’m using Ghostery in Google Chrome as well and the video autoplay on https://foliovision.com/player/demos/youtube-vast-autoplay works fine for me.
It’s tricky with autoplay and eve worse with YouTube. Perhaps in such cases we could make the working ad playback a priority and forget about autoplay.
I forgot to mention that there was a new FV Player Pro beta release (7.1.7.726.beta) which fixed the iOS issue I was mentioning. Are you getting that issue on https://foliovision.com/player/demos/youtube-vast-autoplay too?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: unable to sream video from openloadHello Dipesh,
we don’t claim to support Openload, so I’m moving this ticket into “Requests and Feedback” forum.
How are you accessing videos from Openload? Are you able to get the video files directly somehow?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: New SkinHello xuhaibkhan,
currently you have to switch to the Beta to use FV Player 7: https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/switching-fv-player-pro-to-beta
After a while we will make it the new release version and FV Player 6 will become deprecated.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
the shortcode on the screenshot looks good, however the first screenshot of the editor shows that the field was not parsed properly.
Do you get into the same issues with using Firefox or Google Chrome?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Shortcodes in Custom PopupsHello John,
could you please let us know which plugin would you like to use? Perhaps if it looks good we could integrate it.
If we allow just any shortcode to work it can yield unexpected (ugly) results.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
could you please copy the exact screenshot you are using here? Or can you provide a screenshot of it? Please make one while using the “Text” tab of the WP post editor.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: FV Player VASTHello Marco,
I checked https://foliovision.com/player/demos/youtube-vast-autoplay using Chrome 67.0.3396.99 on OS X 10.12.6. I got the ad playing 10 out of 10 times. I tried to use different network speeds too.
The only time when there is an issue is when you come to the website the first time ever – Chrome doesn’t know they site, so it assigns zero MEI score to it and won’t permit audible autoplay. You can read more about that here: https://foliovision.com/2018/05/video-autoplay-issues
With FV Player 7 Beta (as used on foliovision.com) the autoplay still works, but the ad won’t play unfortunately. But fortunately Chrome remembers that you saw a video on that site, increases the MEI score and further videos autoplay with VAST just fine.
Could you please check if you are perhaps using some browser extension which might cause the issue?
I’m noticing the video won’t play on iOS 11.3 on that demo page though, so we will get that fixed. We will add it to our automated testing as well.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
I don’t think I understand your last question properly. Please feel free to use your native language.
As Alec explained, we can troubleshoot the issue on your site and fix it right there if you order our Pro support.
Alternatively we can help you with some troubleshooting tips. I already asked for the exact shortcode you are using in your post where it doesn’t work.
As a next step you can try to switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Seventeen and see if it works there. Next you can start disabling plugins one by one – specially any custom plugins done for your site.
Our ultimate goal is to make this whole ads and popups process much simpler:
1) We are moving away from using the WordPress shortcodes to a database driven model (simple shortcodes will keep on working though).
2) We are also reworking the way the ads and popups work, so that you can pick the image from WP Media Library directly and you don’t have to worry about HTML.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
I checked that page and the ad is not there at all. He haven’t had an issue like this before, it almost appears to be some plugin conflict.
Could you please let us have a look at the [fvplayer…] shortcode as it appears in that post content?
Are you able to get the https://foliovision.com/player/ads/setting-up-html-popups working?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
could you please send us a link to the page where it doesn’t work?
I see that we need to work on the new timeline actions as this is supposed to be easy and not require HTML knowledge.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: ads htmlHello Fabio,
our goal with the new timeline actions feature will be to let you put in images from WP Media Library directly, so no HTML knowledge will be required.
Here is some sample image markup which you can use:
You can see it in action on second player here: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/html-popup-form
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Vimeo reliability issuesHello Leho,
use of Dash streams for Vimeo will be the new default soon. FV Player 7 Beta which you are using did improve that a lot and also made the videos harder to download that way. Vimeo is also hosting it on multiple CDNs, in contrary to MP4 files.
Could you please post a link to the page where the issue seems to be occurring? Did you use Google Analytics to gather the information about % of users having these issues? Here is our guide: https://foliovision.com/player/advanced/google-analytics-fv-player#video-errors
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Playlist Thumbnail width too largeHello S,
we found that the issue is caused by FV Player iframe embed code routine which makes sure the player takes over full iframe content. It should not be applied to a generic iframe like yours, it should only affect FV Player iframe embed.
It’s fixed now and ready for the next release which will happen next week. In the meantime you can reinstall FV Player from WordPress.org to get the fix. To do that you will have to first deactivate and delete the current FV Player plugin you are using. WordPress will warn you that you might loose settings and data, but it’s not the case with out plugin, no settings now videos will be lost. Or you can just replace the plugin files via FTP.
I also see you are stripping the query string version numbers for JavaScript files. We consider that a bad practice as that way you have to clear your browser cache (and CDN if it’s involved) to get the new files – so your browser will likely hang on to the old FV Player script and you wan’t see this fixed until you clear all the caches. Here is our article about the issue: https://foliovision.com/2017/06/wordpress-cdn-best-practices
Thanks,
MartinHello s,
we found a similar issue on some other website, I will try to come up with a fix. As a quick workaround you can use CSS like this:
.flowplayer.fixed-controls.is-audio { height: 40px !important; }
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Playlist Thumbnail width too largeHello John,
I see we are not passing the 100% width to the playlist players. We will get that fixed.
Thanks,
MartinHello Marc,
perhaps Vimeo is blocking the API calls from your server. Could you please send over the [fvplayer] shortcode which is not working for you? Please also include the link to your page where the video won’t play.
Are you using the Vimeo Channel feature? https://foliovision.com/player/video-hosting/how-to-use-vimeo#adding-video-channel
Or are you building the playlist in the normal FV Player way? https://foliovision.com/player/basic-setup/creating-playlists
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Author gravatars not served from cacheHello Will,
it works that way as it only caches a single size (and retina size) for each avatar. So your author avatar is probably bigger.
We were thinking about improving this, but in the end where the cached gravatar helps the most if a post with a lot of comments where a lot of people might just have the default one.
Thanks,

Martin6 years ago in reply to: FV Player VASTHello Mirco,
I tested that page on iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2 and iPad with iOS 11.3 and it worked fine. I also got an overlay video ad when I opened the page the first time.

FV Player version 6.6.4 which has been released now fixes the issue.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: Resumable VideoHello John,
I’m just closing some old thread – the video position storing was added couple of months ago: https://foliovision.com/2018/03/position-saving-video-fields
The video links were not working on your website because of Vimeo quality switching. It was fixed in some other thread.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: JetPack Breaks FV Player in newest updateHello Lacey,
I’m posting what we found in the Pro support here to make sure we help other users too:
The problem was with your theme UnidashVersion By CactusThemes which runs HTML filtering function (wp_kses) when showing articles. It’s a standard WordPress function which strips potentially malicious HTML markup from the posts. Normally it only runs when saving the posts, but your theme is running it even on the HTML code added by plugins – which is non-standard. So we improved FV Player to handle this scenario – the fixed version is on your website already and we will make that fix part of the next release as well.
Second issue was that some plugin breaks the way FV Player works. And it’s not JetPack, theme must be some other change which was done on the website, like some other plugin update. However enabling “Load FV Flowplayer JS everywhere” fixed the issues, so the videos in your lessons now play. The downside of that setting is that the CSS/JS files have to load one each page, but it’s more compatible. Your setup seems to be loading the post content in some strange way which prevents FV Player to load its scripts without use of that option unfortunately.
Thanks,

I am noticing the issue now. We will check how the lightbox window size is calculated and see if the new fancyBox technology to which we are upgrading will fix the issue.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: Quality Videos played from AmazonHello Marie,
that is correct, FV Player 7 enables manual quality switching for HLS streams. It lists the video qualities automatically.
I see the issue that the “System preset: HLS 2M” in AWS Elastic Transcoder actually sets the limit to 1024×768 rather than 1280×720. So that preset needs to be cloned and the resolution needs to be set right. The bitrate which is 1872 should be increased to 2194 or so. But you try even 3-4 Mbps if you need superior video quality.

I’m noticing we are having the same issue here: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/youtube-vast-autoplay
We will get it fixed.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: crossdomain.xmlHello Homa,
seems like our video checker is not able to connect to your streaming server. It’s not trying to impersonate a real browser.
Could you please send the report using that red button, so we can have a closer look?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Screen mosaic in FV Player 7 BetaHello Gbrother,
the issue with video ending is fixed. We found there is a better way of marking up Dash segment durations. That should really make the streaming more reliable. We tested on 16 videos using both release and beta versions.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: Increase in Vimeo errorsHello Çapan,
I found there was a bug in the initialization segment IDs. It has been fixed on the API end. We will look for a way of validating the MPD streams to detect issues like this early on.

I’m noticing there is a problem that some (1 out of 20) Vimeo videos now don’t finish properly and instead just show black screen at the end. We are working on fixing that issue, but if you are not using playlists or end of video actions it won’t affect you.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: How To Play Flash Movie FileHello msk2018,
currently it’s possible to have a popup at the end of the video and a video ad at the start of video, which can be set to display after a set amount of time.
We have bigger plans – to allow you to show any of the popup at any time in any video. But first we need to finish the plugin update to store player configuration in database rather than in shortcodes. We made good progress on that lately.
Thanks,
MartinHello msk2018,
I have seen some scripts which can hide the YouTube ID when playing the video. However they were not using a custom interface, it was the standard YouTube iframe.
We could work on improving this, but from our experience the YouTube API has its bugs as well, so we will talk about this on our team meeting and will see.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: Progress bar preview ala YouTubeHello Radmitry,
thank you for your suggestions.
We wanted to add some quick implementation of the progress bar preview frames, however it might not work with HLS and MPEG-DASH streams. So it’s bit of downside. But perhaps at least for Vimeo videos it could load the preview frames. Do you have you video preview frames generated in some image file too?
We will discuss the your mouse pointer ideas.
These ugly white dashes are actually the portions of video which were already buffered – seeking into these takes no time.

Martin6 years ago in reply to: Increase in Vimeo errorsHello Çapan,
we received some more bug reports about Vimeo couple of days ago. It appears that there was some issue with video encoding on Vimeo.
I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue you were having. Have you seen decrease in the video errors in Google Analytics since you reported the issue?
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Lightbox issue on laptop computerHello Anthony,
I was not able to reproduce the issue. What is your laptop operating system and what browser do you use?
Are you getting the same issue when you switch to the Twenty Seventeen template?
Thanks,
MartinHello Çapan,
it appears no external scripts are loading before the FV Player scripts apart from https://adservice.google.com/adsid/integrator.js?domain=ailevecocuk.net which seems to be quick.
There is also some request to https://ailevecocuk.net/javascript.js which is the top of HTML, but it goes to 404 WordPress page and it doesn’t seem to be cached. It seems to be responsible for a 3 second delay in the site loading.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Screen mosaic in FV Player 7 BetaHello Gbrother,
we got one more report like this and it seemed like a temporary issue with Vimeo video encoding. Are you still getting it?
Thanks,
MartinHello Matt,
we got one more similar report, it seems like the issue could have been on Vimeo end.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Backend Problems – Post saving takes too longHello Florian,
so they said your site is not connected VaultPress. What is the reason to use VaultPress in that case? But as you discovered it is still sending some information to them as your screenshots posted earlier show.
Have you tried to disable FV Player and replicate the action and see if these vaultpress.com/xmlrpc.php calls are still occurring? Based on what you wrote before the post saving should be quick in such case, but are these calls still happening in that case? They really should.
So then VaultPress really should be able to tell what is causing these remove calls, what is being send and now. Perhaps they want to backup the video file as well? That could take a lot of time, but I don’t think they would really do that.
Thanks,
Martin6 years ago in reply to: Flash version of FlowplayerHello William,
we only started to offer Flowplayer licenses since version 5.
I also tried to install ArtisBrowser on Windows 7 and I could get the MP4 videos to play after I installed Flash: https://foliovision.com/player/demos/playlist-autoplay There was no need to use old FV WordPress Flowplayer 1.2.17 with Flowplayer 3 (Flash) in it.
But I couldn’t get it to play Vimeo nor CloudFront videos (with URL signature obtained via Ajax). That was not supported in old FV WordPress Flowplayer anyway.
Thanks,
Martin
